Harties Harbour is on the north-western shore of Hartbeespoort Dam, in Kommandonek Resort on Simon Bekker Avenue: easy to reach from Johannesburg and Pretoria, and a handy stop on the way to Sun City and the Pilanesberg.
It is not at the Zoo and Snake Park. On Google Maps, look for Harties Boat Company.

Do I need to book to visit the harbour?
No. The harbour is open to day visitors. Cruises, charters, pontoon hire and activities are best booked ahead, especially on weekends and public holidays.
Where is Harties Harbour?

Is it suitable for families?
Yes. There is a mix of calm and active things to do. Daily cruises take children from 6, and some activities have their own age limits.
Can we do more than one thing in a day?
That is the idea. Cruises, activities, the beach café and the market all run from the same harbour, so you can walk from one to the next.
What if the weather turns?
Cruises and outdoor activities depend on the weather. If it is unsafe, the team moves you to another time or another day.
Is there parking?
Yes, on site. It fills up on busy weekends and public holidays, so come early.
How do I pay?
Cards for most experiences. The bars take cards too, but the signal can drop at the water's edge, so a little cash helps.
